May: 1,922yds
For as hot as it was, August was a fairly productive month overall when it came to knitting! I managed to stay well over my goal of 734yds/month, and I’m quickly approaching my year’s goal of knitting 8,800yds or 5.0 miles. Most of August’s yardage came from a pair of handspun socks and a bulky knit toy; both of these projects were quite quick to knit up and ate up yarn. I also finished up a WIP shawl, a second, lingering sock, and started a new sweater project which is slow going at the moment. All-in-all, I’m pretty pleased with August. The summer months usually kill my knitting mojo, and I managed to keep my momentum up despite the heat.
Sadly, September is starting off just as hot as August was–abnormally hot and for a long duration. I am sick of using my central air to keep things livable in the house. We’ll have to see how this affects September’s numbers…as well as a very fun new toy which arrived late last week. 🙂
How was your August, kittens? Did you do much knitting, or did you switch to a different craft/hobby for the hot months? Perhaps you’re a Summer Person and have been enjoying the heat in other ways?
